Some Conditions Acupuncture Can Successfully Treat:
Mark is a dedicated and compassionate acupuncturist with a diverse background in the healing arts. He began as a yoga and qigong instructor, studied Polarity and CranioSacral therapies along the way, and eventually committed to a four year Master of Acupuncture program at the Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine, from which he graduated magna cum laude in 2022.
In addition to acupuncture, Mark’s treatment toolkit includes tui na (Chinese medical massage), gua sha, cupping, and teishin—a traditional non-insertive needle that, like acupuncture, helps to harness and fine tune the body’s intrinsic healing potential. Mark loves working closely with patients to determine which treatment tools and techniques are most effective for their individual needs.
Mark also holds a Bachelor of Music degree (Theory/Composition) from the University of Tennessee. In his free time he enjoys singing, composing, and learning to play new musical instruments, even if horribly so. He resides in Knoxville with his wife, Elizabeth, a veterinary dermatologist, and their seriously curious tabby cat, Byrdie.
